LGBTQIA Counselling in West Sussex from Your Space Today

LGBTQIA Counselling from Your Space Today

LGBTQIA abbreviation “an acronym for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Queer/Questioning, Intersex and Asexual. It refers to a population of people united by having gender identities or sexual orientations that differ from the heterosexual and cisgender majority.”

That is the dictionary definition of LGBTQIA but the dictionary can’t define you, that is why I acknowledge that every chair is different. Through counselling we will look at your experiences of whatever it is that brings you to counselling and work towards a way for you to live how you wish to live.

You may be struggling with anxiety or stress, or one of the other areas highlighted on this Your Space Today website and together we can look at this and the impact that this is having on your life. Your reason for seeking counselling, is unique to you and I will tailor my approach to suit your needs in achieving what you would like to achieve.

There could be a number of reasons for wanting counselling.  Being part of the LGBTQIA community and the challenges you encompass, this could be linked to guilt, shame, abandonment or how you feel other people are treating you; hostility and discrimination.  Whatever is happening for you right now and the impact this is having on your mental health is very, very real!

Just trying to make sense of who you know yourself to be or how to understand your emotions can feel very isolating.

Your confidence and self-esteem may feel low or feel like it’s been shattered, the stress of living your life authentically to you and the reaction of friends and families may have surprised you, upset you, or caused you further distress.  You may feel lonely and unsure where to go for support, which may lead to increased anxiety or feeling of low mood. What is paramount though, is what’s important to you? What is it that you need, or want to make life okay for you?

I can offer you Your Space Today and provide you with a supportive place to talk at my consulting room in Storrington, West Sussex.

not something I had to
control or shut off.”
